Barley

Background Information

Barely is a rare brawler in the game.  He  can be found  in brawl chests. He does high damage and has a little amount of health. His weapon of choice are kegs of his favorite drink and he can chuck over walls. His are an area of effect ability and can hit multiple enemy brawlers at once.  His kegs also leave behind a puddle that will damage brawlers who continue to stand in it

Primary Attack

“Barley lobs a bottle, breaking it and spilling the contents. Its corrosive contents damage enemies standing in the puddle.”

Undiluted: Barely throws his kegs to a target location.  After the impact, the keg explodes in a circle.  The circle persists for a few seconds doing damage on impact and damage over time if the enemy brawlers are still standing on the puddle.  Since he can throw over walls, use this to your advantage by taking cover while being able to dish out your damage.

Super Ability

“This one’s on the house! Barley hurls a flurry of fiery bottles, covering a huge area in flames. Get out of there, bad guys!”
Last Call: Barley’s ultimate ability is a spammed version of his basic attack. Instead of throwing one keg, he throws multiple kegs spread over a big area.  The explosion causes massive damage a massive area of ticking damage.  His ultimate can be used easily as a zoning tool to stop enemy brawlers from going through a certain area for a few seconds or do damage to an entire enemy team.  His ultimate will not break walls.

Star Power: Medical Use

“Barley takes a swig from every bottle he tosses, regaining 100 health from each main attack.”

This star power allows Barely to do better in extended fights.  If an average fight lasts 10 seconds, he will be able to get around 1000 more health compared to not having this ability.  Although this may sound good, Barley is still vulnerable to burst damage since he will not be able to drink much. Just make sure you do not forget to face check bushes and you will be fine.

Beginner Tips

Standing behind a wall or in bushes will help you do damage unscathed because most brawlers need a clear line of sight, unlike you.  Hurl those kegs from a safe distance to have maximum efficiency.

If you are being chased by an enemy at close range, throw your kegs on top of yourself. This forces your opponent brawler to walk into your spilled liquids and take damage from chasing you.

When playing offense on Heist, throw your ultimate ability at the bomb to do lots of damage.  The puddles of damage over time does effect the bank’s health so use this to your advantage.

Barely’s kegs move slowly in the air so you have to predict where the enemy will walk.  Practice makes perfect!

Best Game Modes

Barley is best in objective based games.  Because of this, he is good in bounty and smash and grab.  Barley is good in bounty because he is good at killing things.  He can stay behind a wall to release his kegs. In smash and grab, he can have a constant flow of kegs in a pathway or on the gem mine.  This allows his team to advance further and get control the map.   This way he earns points and does not risk losing his stars for the team.
